Cochran's Ski Area is a nonprofit ski hill in Richmond, Vermont, that hosts 2,000 kids a year through school programs, along with racing and training for the next generation of competitive skiers and riders. Olympic slalom gold medalist Barbara Ann Cochran teaches joint lessons for parents and their toddlers, and the area provides lessons and equipment to kids from secondary schools and the Boys and Girls Club. The hill has a 350-foot vertical drop, a T-bar, a rope tow and a base lodge. The country's first nonprofit ski area, Cochran's vows that no child will be denied the chance to ski or ride, and it gives a free ticket and gear when available to those who ask for financial help.

Powered by GoogleFamily owned training hill with rope tows only, but great slopes and great deals is you can get em! Fun quick runs. Great for learning or practicing. Packed parking on a Friday night
I took the Level 1 four-day group class with Kevin, and he was extremely kind and patient. I liked that the class is only one hour long, which gives me plenty of time to practice afterward. I was injured while skiing last year, and Kevin and Sue (the Ski School Director) helped me overcome my fear of skiing. By day three, I built up the courage to ride the T-bar to reach the higher slopes. You can truly feel the warmth from everyone here—it feels like being part of a family. From what I observed, all the instructors are very patient and encouraging, especially with the younger ones. The place isn’t huge, but it has slopes of different levels, which makes it challenging and enjoyable for everyone in my family. I’m so happy and thankful that we came here because I had such a wonderful time. ❤️
What an awesome place for families beginning to ski! This place was exactly what we were looking for and my daughter loved it. FYI lessons fill up fast so book way in advance.
Very friendly Ski slope. Staff are very interested in the participants welfare and everyone wants to help out. It's also gorgeous in spring and has some pretty cool mountain biking programs
Visited them for the first time this year! Love the place for the kids to learn to ski and snowboard. Its family oriented, nothing fancy but very affordable, and its exactly what we were looking for. The kids had a blessed and our 6 year old learned to ski on the 1st day and didn’t want to get off the hill. On the 2nd day she was comfortable to even go up the big hill. Will be back for sure!!!!
