She was very unhappy at the prospect of going but by the end of the assessment she was telling me which class time would work with our schedule! We continued when my first grader was excelling and needed more of a challenge. What Math Plus hasn't done? Made my girls unstoppable math wizards. Which I wasn't looking for! What it has done is taken my oldest from not sure she was going to pass third grade to an A- B 4th grade Math student, increased her confidence that she CAN DO MATH, given her multiple ways to solve problems (most of which she finds easier than what she is taught in school!) and made math a subject she understands and feels she can master with some effort and creative thought. Tears to smiles very, very quickly! What else? My first grader (who did first grade math workbooks in kindergarten for fun) is now doing second grade math, telling me all math is easy and using problem solving skills like a life skill not just a math skill. Would I recommend them- absolutely! For any kid who needs help. Needs a challenge. Needs alternative solutions. Enjoys math. Doesn't enjoy math. It's been worth our time and money for sure and I recommend the Powell team every chance I get!
