The Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM) is a nonprofit contemporary-music school running summer rock-band camps in Portland (and Bangor). Junior Rock Camp groups ages 8–12 into bands over two weeks, while one-week Teen and Ultimate Teen Rock Camps serve ages 10–18, with instructors coaching students through selecting, rehearsing, and performing songs, ending in a final live performance.

There are so many positive aspects of MAMM, but I think the coolest thing has been the access MAMM provides for kids to play on some of the best stages in Portland. The instructors and coaching are top-notch. As an organization, MAMM is doing so many great things for kids and families in Portland and across the state. Very highly recommended!
