Lutheran Valley Retreat is a year-round Christian retreat and summer camp in the Pike National Forest near Florissant, about 1.5 hours from Colorado Springs. Summer programs run as week-long residential sessions for ages 8–14, with wilderness adventures and tent camping for ages 11–17 and a camp for ages 4–5 attended with a parent, grandparent or guardian. Campers backpack Colorado terrain and do archery and tomahawks, rock climbing and rappelling, and horseback riding, with specialty tracks including School of Rock, Mountain Riders, Wilderness Adventures, Horse Care Adventure, Blaster rocket camp and Frontier Village.

At the women's retreat this weekend, filled with beautiful hiking trails, a giant swing, zip line, rock climbing and rappelling, good food, and a great fellowship of fellow believers. The staff is so friendly and extremely helpful. There are crafting materials, hammocks, picnic tables, all sorts of e activities in which to partake. I was pleasantly surprised to see a deer at the base of the zip line platform right before I stepped off and was fortunate to be able to get a video. I will DEFINITELY return!

They have a great summer camp program with a wide range of traditional camp activites, such as: hiking, rock climbing & rappeling, zip line, horseback riding, archery, fishing, swimming, backpacking, inner tubing, camp games, camp songs around the fire, stargazing, and so much more! Best of all it's a small Christian camp where everyone treats you like family. Their log cabins and buildings have an outdoorsy but modern charm, without being too modern (electronic devices not allowed!) I learned so much here as a kid and still have good memories, and I know my kids are making memories as well. I trust the staff and I love how secluded, peaceful, and beautiful it is there. A truly spiritual experience :)
