Some of the criteria I look for in a ballet class, which are important to me, is proper alignment of the body, safe stretching exercises, developing artistry in your journey as a dancer, and if the studio happens to offer performance opportunities for adults, well, that is icing on the cake! I am pleased to say that I have found all of these and more at Los Gatos Ballet! All the teachers provide excellent training, with good corrections during class and offer much encouragement and fun! Specifically, the Dance Lab on Thursday morning, taught by Marcie Ryken, offers a deeper dive into experiential anatomy, that will result in freedom of movement in ballet technique. Lastly, Los Gatos Ballet presented its inaugural Drop-in Showcase on April 19, featuring adult dancers performing a variety of dances! It was truly a joy to be a part of this community celebration! Come and try a drop in class! You won't be disappointed!

Even in this hectic time they are tirelessly devoting themselves to making sure that the LGB students and families are able to express themselves through dance. I have been taking their online zoom classes and they are fabulous. Even with movement so restricted due to the stay at home order, they give a full barre and are even incorporating center and pointe into the curriculum. I am in a university ballet program, and LGB’s online classes absolutely parallel those at a college level. Even when social distancing, Los Gatos Ballet manages to make their dance family feel as close as ever.
