This is the Lenexa location of Life Time, a national athletic country-club chain. Life Time Kids runs summer day camps for children (roughly ages 4–12, varying by club) with sports, swimming, games and activities, and before-care available from 7am. Camps are open to active junior members, so a Life Time membership is required.

Powered by GoogleMy family and I have been members of Life Time since this club first opened in 2010. Over the past fifteen years, we have invested a significant amount of time and money into this facility because it once represented a premium standard of service, professionalism, and member experience. Unfortunately, in recent years—particularly following the COVID era—the overall quality of the club has noticeably deteriorated. What is most disappointing is not the condition of the facility itself, but the decline in customer service and the caliber of certain employees entrusted to represent the Life Time brand. When members are paying nearly $400 per month for a membership, they should reasonably expect a level of professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness that reflects the premium price point. My most recent interaction with a front desk associate named Brett exemplifies this issue. I asked a simple and entirely reasonable question regarding why the club doors are routinely locked approximately twenty minutes before the posted closing time and suggested that clear signage be displayed so members are properly informed. Rather than receiving a thoughtful explanation or even a courteous response, I was met with an indifferent and dismissive remark: “We’ll see about that.” This type of interaction is unacceptable in any customer-facing role, let alone at a luxury health club that prides itself on exceptional member experiences. The response communicated a complete lack of concern for member feedback and demonstrated an attitude that was both unprofessional and disrespectful. To be clear, there are still many outstanding employees at this club who consistently provide excellent service and genuinely care about the member experience. However, those individuals are increasingly overshadowed by staff members whose conduct diminishes the quality and reputation of the organization. The accumulation of these negative interactions has become impossible to ignore. As a long-term member, it is frustrating to watch a club that once set the standard for excellence gradually lower its expectations. Loyalty should be valued, member concerns should be taken seriously, and employees should be held to a standard that reflects the premium nature of the Life Time brand. At its current trajectory, the club risks eroding the trust and satisfaction of the very members who have supported it for years. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and recognizes that the issue extends beyond a single interaction. It’s a microcosm of a broader decline in service standards that longtime members have increasingly begun to notice.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The absolute best trainer if you want safe, lasting results! Returning to the gym after two surgeries and a two year hiatus was incredibly intimidating, but teaming up with Jaden was the best decision I could have made. What sets Jaden apart from other trainers is his chiropractic background. He doesn't just count your reps; he actually understands body mechanics. He patiently taught me how to stretch my specific trouble spots and how to perfectly isolate muscles to build strength without risking re-injury. He knows exactly how to push you hard without going over the edge. Jaden also helped me dial in my nutrition, protein, and supplements. The physical results have been incredible: since December, I’ve built stronger muscles, lost body fat and completely dropped TWO clothing sizes. I am finally fitting back into my favorite clothes! If you are nervous about getting back into fitness or just want a deeply educated trainer who will actually transform your body, you need to book with Jaden. He is a gamechanger! #Lifetimelenexa #PersonalTraining
Been a faithful member since 2007! Come on with charging for these “signature” classes but not providing the amount spaces you allow to be reserved So when you show up ON TIME there isn’t enough machines to accommodate your members who are paying This is an ongoing issue How is this fair Or good business This is terrible customer service for those paying extra to have these special classes available
In Dec 2025, I filed a formal complaint regarding repeated uncomfortable interactions with a trainer after a prior documented attempt to establish boundaries. I expected discretion and proper follow-up. After reporting, I became aware of information that made me question whether confidentiality was maintained. Management attempted to discuss my complaint in public areas in front of another client rather than privately. I was passed between multiple local and corporate staff members with no clear point of contact or consistent updates. I paused my membership on December 24, 2025 and requested cancellation on February 4, 2026. After no response, I submitted a second request and ultimately canceled on February 10. Between my pause on 12/24 and my request on 2/4, I received no follow up. Between my request on 2/4 and cancellation on 2/10, a front desk employee who was unaware of the situation called to encourage me to return. I attempted to schedule an in-person discussion multiple times, but my request was not addressed. This experience caused ongoing stress and has led me to doubt Life Time’s care for their members. Bottom line: Don't trust that you're valued as a member or that your voice matters.
I've been with this Lifetime location for a year now and i'm very disappointed. One of the biggest reasons why I made the move was because i wanted a higher end fitness club that I can feel comfortable in for the money I was paying. The first 4-6 months were great, i loved making the switch from a cheap gym like Crunch where i was before. The atmosphere was amazing, the facilities were top notch and I loved the amenities in the basketball court and pool area. The issue I have with Lifetime Lenexa now and why I have chosen to end my membership, is because the way it's been maintained (cleanliness of bathrooms/locker rooms, pool area, weight area) are slowly declining month over month. The mens locker room bathroom has smelt like a swage line for the past 3 months alone. There are members (some, not all) that do not clean up after themselves or wipe down equipment/mats, do not put weights away in the right spot where they took them from, record themselves in the mirror flexing/posing while others change in the locker room and wearing underwear in the pool. If i'd be okay with these things happening, i would've stay at crunch and paid $10/month. When i'm paying $160-$170/month for just myself, i'd fully expect a well maintained fitness center that is clean and very well maintained. The other main issue is that there just isn't enough room in the weights section. Not enough bench's, not enough space in the dumbbell area, and there seems to always be a grunter. Someone lifting somewhat heavy, but not heavy enough to grunt and you hear it over your head phones. That's another big reason why i left Crunch, because there were always gym bros there like that, but again, I'd rather pay $10/month and hear grunting than pay $170/month and hear grunting. Last thing on equipment, it's just old. They need to do a renovation on equipment there because if you look at any other cheap gym in the area, they have way more updated equipment that Lifetime. End rant, i'm just disappointed in my experience with Lifetime overall, i thought i'd love it and be a member for years but ultimately, the value just isn't there for the price.
