The program is good. Staffs are friendly. They work with kids well. Manager and registrar are available to answer. However, The only thing that I am not satisfied at all is the building. Building is very old with a lot maintenance problems. Most of the time, AC is not working, especially in summer, and manager has to put a ticket for it. Few times, we experienced power outage. Stairway inside basketball class is very dark. I asked for lamp several times, but it is still dark.

My best friend just had a wedding here last weekend. Day before the wedding the owner/manager was rude to the bride and gave no reasonable solution to their ac going out day before the wedding. Only solution given was "you can cancel". What kind of solution is this to a wedding that has family coming in from all over the country? 1. Call emergency hvac company and get it fixed? 2. Get portable AC units to cool the place down? 3. Give a partial refund for inconvenience and almost ruining one of the biggest events in ones life? None as offered other then you can cancel on top of being rude, unprofessional, and showing no compassion on an important day like this? On top of all this during the event he came and closed the doors in the room allowing no air circulation making it even hotter! Look elsewhere for your important events this owner/manager doesn't know how to run an event hall and has no interpersonal skills!!! Major fail!

I recently attended a wedding here. A/C was lost few days before the actual wedding. No viable solutions or compensation to assist with a sweltering heat oven. Doors were to be locked which allowed no cool air to enter. The person dealt with was also rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend this place for those looking to use for any events. Zero stars if possible.

My family & I toured the auditorium/gym in hopes to find a space to use for a repast following my Grandma’s funeral service. My Aunt, myself, and a family friend went in to view the facility. The individual who was responsible for showing us the place was Wilburt Nicholson. He was rude from beginning of the tour through the end. The place itself looks like a dump. Very different from pictures online. The floor was filthy, and the facility had a terrible smell. We put all this aside & my aunt figured we can clean & decorate the place to make it look and feel better. She proceeds to ask Wilburt a question and before she even gets her question out, Wilburt , angrily tells her “ that’s alright ma’am , have a good day.” At this point I was over the tour & knew this would not be the place for us. You can even tell with how he talks to potential clients (who happened to call him while we were on the tour), that this man is mean and is very unprofessional. I see from the other reviews I am not the only one who thinks so. I highly suggest the Laurel boys & girls club review who they hire or who they allow to volunteer, and reconsider if he is someone who should be representing your brand. He made sure to tell us he was the vice president of this club, and doesn’t “get paid to do this” several times. I am surprised that this individual is in a leadership role with how he talks to people. We will not be using this space, and I will let others know about my encounter & how disappointing this interaction was.
