Lakewood Playhouse runs a summer education season of musical theater day camps that take participants through the whole production process, from audition to a public showcase. The 2026 lineup runs 9:00am-4:00pm and spans age bands: Finding Nemo Kids is a five-day camp for rising 1st-6th graders, Frozen Jr. a two-week camp for rising 3rd-8th graders, and A Chorus Line: Teen Edition and Ride The Cyclone: Teen Edition are three-week camps for rising 9th-12th graders and 19-year-olds. Camps are taught by working teaching artists and campers build singing, acting and dancing skills around a single show. Fees run $300-$600 by session length, and the playhouse states finances should not be a barrier and offers a scholarship application.

I think it was both directed & acted brilliantly to be able to utilize this performance space best and the way they did in this play. It felt almost like minimalist theater, everything is stripped down and the experience is personal. I would happily attend any performance here in the future and I highly recommend this experience.
