As a new member recovering from surgery, I was nervous about returning to fitness. Jeffery, Jamie, Kelly, Lorenzo, and Maggie made the transition incredibly positive. Their professionalism, encouragement, and genuine care helped me regain confidence and stay committed to my fitness journey safely.

Two years as a member, and I like this place, the staff is nice and the recent renovation clearly represented a significant investment. Which makes one glaring omission all the more baffling: there is not a single hook in the pool area. None. Zero. The result is exactly what you’d expect. Every handrail along the pool wall (the one that exists for the safety of swimmers entering and exiting the water) is completely buried under wet towels, swim bags, and gear. The single bench and small folding table near the sauna are perpetually covered in bottles and wet towels, leaving no place to sit and, more critically, no accessible rail to grab. During peak hours, this isn’t just an inconvenience, it’s a safety hazard. A wet, crowded pool deck with obstructed handrails is an injury waiting to happen. I watch those with mobility issues struggle with this daily. This facility just completed a massive renovation. Contractors were in the building. Walls were touched and somehow, a row of simple stainless steel hooks didn’t make the cut. Put up hooks, this is not a tall order and the need is obvious.

The employees clearly care and are knowledgable about machines. The gym equipment is new and in perfect condition. Unfortunately, the a/c was not working a week ago during my visit. Not sure if repaired yet. Also, be aware that this location is under major construction so you walk through scaffolding to get inside. I was excited to use the interior pool for laps as I am not able to be in sun at all, however, the chlorine was so strong that I could not be in the pool area at all, much less swim in it. Hopefully they convert to salt system in future, or at least get a handle on chlorine levels and fix ventilation. The employees are nice, so I'll give it a try in future when a/c is working.

This is a great YMCA. We have been coming here for a couple years and love that its in our neighborhood. The staff is amazing - everyone is so friendly and welcoming. If you ever need anything addressed, they handle it quickly, efficiently, and with care. The personal training is a great program and we've used it consistently for over a year - the trainers are knowledgable and help you meet your goals. You will see a full transformation if you work with them. The facility itself has everything you need with great equipment, rock climbing instruction, and great yoga and workout classes. The pool is always clean and love taking advantage of the sauna. Our experience has been a 10/10.

Today 1/10/26 my family and I did a family equipment tour. In the newly renovated fitness floor at the Gills YMCA. Eric was our guide. He is also a personal trainer. He facilitated our tour. He started off having us warm up on the treadmills. After that, he took us to the turf space to stretch out on the ground. Next he showed us around to a few different machines. As well as how to get a full body workout. He was very patient and kind. He answered every question we had, including questions from our boys, ages eleven and fourteen. If you are looking for a great personal trainer, I would give Eric 10 out of 10 stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The new fitness floor, is an amazing place to work out in. They are open 7 days a week. Mon- Fri 5am-9pm, Sat 8am-5pm, Sun 8am-4pm.
