Ipswich Junior Sailing teaches sailors ages 8–16 at the Ipswich Bay Yacht Club on Quay Road, using a fleet of 15 Optimist dinghies for sailors roughly 8–12 or under 115 lbs and 8 Club 420s for heavier, more experienced students. Most sessions run Monday through Thursday as eight half-days — mornings 9:15am–12:15pm or afternoons 1:15pm–4:15pm — with a couple of four-full-day sessions in late June and early August. Sessions start the third week of June and run through the summer.

★★★★★rose perulloMy son tried this sailing program last summer (2017) and he loved it!! He was 12 and never tried sailing prior to attending this summer camp. The counselors were friendly, patient and encouraging. He learned different positions of the sails and their names. He become familiar with rigging a sailboat and learned the race course. At the end of the program there is a regatta, this was a blast!! The counselors also held theme days on a Friday and pizza. My son made many friends and loves sailing. He is attending this program this summer - he wouldn't miss it!! This is the best sailing camp.
