Infant Aquatics CT is a year-round swim school in Ansonia teaching survival swimming to infants and toddlers from 6 months to about 6 years. Lessons are short one-to-one or small-group sessions in an indoor heated pool, focused on teaching young children to float, roll onto their backs, and self-rescue. It is a swim-lesson program, not a summer day camp.

Powered by GoogleI would recommend Infant Aquatics CT to EVERY family who can get a spot. I’m so thankful that a coworker of mine recommended this program. She told me all 4 of her boys had been through the training, for me that was plenty of proof that it must work. I was still nervous when my daughter (18mo) started, she mostly uses sign language and has 3 spoken words. She is quite…. skillfully avoidant? To put it nicely. My fears were quickly resolved, Sydney is amazing with my daughter. She pushes her when it’s absolutely necessary (seriously.. I wasn’t sure she would ever start kicking her feet after I saw week 1) and Sydney is so so sweet to her in every moment. My husband and I are so incredibly grateful to Infant Aquatics CT, any child I have will be doing this program!
We are so grateful for this swim program. Both of my children started when they were young (17 months and 2.5 years old, they are now 5 and 3), and it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and truly care about each child’s progress. This program focuses on survival skills first, which gave us incredible peace of mind knowing our children can safely float and orient themselves in the water — even fully clothed. Now transitioning into swim lessons, their confidence and strength in the water is amazing to see. We are beyond thankful for the life-saving skills they’ve learned here. Highly recommend to any parent.
We’ve been part of the IACT family for nine and a half years and counting! My oldest started at six months as a floater and recently graduated at nine with the skills to join a swim team if he wanted to. My younger two started as toddlers and are currently in the strokes program. We have been with almost every instructor from Dena and Lori all the way through to currently Mr Bryan. We love everyone at IACT. Mr Bryan is so patient with my super strong willed ADHD six year old. He finds ways to help keep him engaged and paying attention. He is fun and silly but also firm when needed. He’s a perfect match for him. He was also so sweet and encouraging with my oldest who is a very nervous kid. He helped build confidence in him that he carries through to everything. Both Mrs Sydney’s have been wonderful as well when my boys were in the younger classes and Miss Alyssa really helped get my youngest out of his shell and progress when he was nervous and stuck. She was so kind and sweet with him. He adores her so much.
Infant aquatics has been BY FAR the best decision we have made for our children! As babies they were both trained by the incredible Dena. Both of my children still love seeing her at their weekly lessons. Brian is a great instructor for my daughter! I watched her make so much progress in the short time she was with him. Her confidence bloomed and she ALWAYS has looked forward to coming to swim since she was a baby! She loved having Sydney Rotham as well for her baby classes. My son loves Kelly for his classes and he continues to make progress every week. If you’re looking for survival swim lessons for your children this is the right team to trust!
Jen has a natural talent for teaching. She knows exactly when to push for progress and when to offer reassurance, which helped build trust and confidence quickly. Her lessons are well-structured, engaging, and always tailored to individual needs. Most importantly, she creates an environment where my son feel safe, supported, and motivated. Thanks to Jen, swimming has become something my son truly look forward to each week. I can’t recommend Jen R. enough—she’s exceptional at what she does!
