We visited yesterday and I was genuinely impressed with the facility, the technology, and the instructors. Signed both kids up before we left. The curriculum is thoughtful and forward-looking. AI, robotics, coding — these aren’t just fun electives anymore, they’re foundational skills, and iCode teaches them in a way that’s engaging without dumbing things down. My kids were hooked. We had a very disappointing experience with iCode Bee Cave. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this situation was frustrating enough that I felt it was important to share. Even before the trial session, scheduling was already inconsistent. Our original appointment on April 8 was canceled at 10:44 AM the same day. I replied to the message but received no response, and eventually had to call to reschedule it myself. We then confirmed a new time for Monday at 5:00 PM, but on Monday morning, we were asked to move it again to 4:00 PM. Despite these last-minute changes, I remained cooperative and did not raise any complaints. After my son attended the trial session and completed the evaluation, both the evaluating instructor and the owner’s wife clearly told us that he was ready to start at the White Belt level. My son has also previously attended multiple related camps and after-school programs, including summer camps at another location of the same organization, all at the White Belt level. Based on this, we agreed to enroll him in the Tuesday 5–7 PM class. He was very excited and had already prepared himself for his first class, including creating a Scratch project that he was looking forward to sharing with his teacher. In addition, I rearranged his existing schedule to accommodate this commitment. He has a private lesson that normally starts at 7:00 PM, and I coordinated with his private teacher to adjust that time going forward so he could attend iCode classes every Tuesday. However, the following morning, we received a call — again from the owner’s wife — stating that he could not start at the White Belt level and must instead begin in the Foundation program due to his age (8). Shortly after, the owner joined the conversation over the phone and took over the discussion. I politely explained that my son had already completed the evaluation and asked whether he could attend at least one trial class at the White Belt level so that his ability could be observed in a real class setting. However, I was told firmly: “At the end of the day, this is my final decision, your son has to start in the Foundation class.” What was especially concerning is that his decision was made without any further direct interaction or observation of my child after the initial evaluation, despite the placement having been changed from what was communicated just the day before. It is difficult to understand how a final placement decision could be made without any additional reassessment or opportunity to observe the student in class. It is also worth noting that the Foundation program has multiple class sections available, whereas the White Belt level only has one class option. Despite this, no alternative placement or transitional option was offered. It was very difficult to explain to my son why he could no longer attend the class he had been looking forward to. The communication throughout the process felt one-sided and inflexible, with no meaningful opportunity for discussion or collaboration. I understand that programs may have guidelines, but a lack of consistency between evaluation feedback, prior experience, and final placement decisions raises concerns about how student placement is determined. We had hoped for a more professional, transparent, and collaborative approach focused on what is best for the child, rather than a rigid, top-down decision. Unfortunately, this experience did not leave us feeling confident in the program. I hope the program can improve its communication and placement process for future families.

All 3 of my kids (ages 10, 9, and 7) attended the Robotics camp and had so much fun building robots! The instructor was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything easy for them to understand. The facility is beautiful; brand new, super clean, easy to drive to, and had plenty of parking. The owners were also both lovely! Overall my kids had a great experience at iCode Bee Cave and are already asking to sign up for more camps.
