Thinkery is Austin's children's museum (formerly the Austin Children's Museum), and its summer camp at the Meredith Learning Lab runs Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm, from June 1 through August 14. Camps rotate five themes - Nature (Austin ecosystems and land stewardship), Art (color, light and global art), Maker (building with Chomp Saws and power cutters), Storytelling (coding with Ozobots and Bee-Bots, stop-motion animation, puppetry) and Community (designing tiny towns and museum exhibits) - and each theme repeats several times across the summer with new projects. Camps serve rising kindergarten through 3rd grade, grouped Rising K-1 (best for ages 5-6) and Rising 2-3 (ages 7-8); classes cap at 20 campers with a 1:10 staff ratio. Aftercare runs to 5:00pm for an added weekly fee, campers bring their own lunch and two snacks, and tuition was listed at $425 standard or $385 for members.

Great that you can park round the corner and validate your ticket to make it cheaper or free. There are so many different activities here kids of all ages will be happy to get stuck in. We especially liked the light room and the water section upstairs. Then at the end we did a solid 45 minutes outside in the play area. Can't recommend this place enough. Austin is lucky to have this facility.
