Nature day camp at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, a 155-acre urban nature sanctuary, where campers explore reptiles, amphibians, ecosystems and conservation through hands-on indoor and outdoor activities. Sessions run weekly from early June through early August for ages 4-12; half-day options (9am-12pm) serve ages 4-6 and full-day camp runs 9am-3pm. Children are grouped into classes by age.

★★★★★GretaBeautiful trails, informational plaques, clean restrooms and a water fountain. It doesn't get better than this in town tbh. There's also GOATS??? I don't know if that's seasonal or permanent, but I really wasn't expecting goats and I'm not mad at it. Some of the trails flood a bit after rain, but not to the point of being impassable. There's no elevation change at any point on the trails, so it's a very easy hike. Still very rewarding, just for the beauty of the park itself. Parking is metered, but not expensive.
★★★Walter RodriguezFirst what so great about this place, so close to home, trails well kept, nice visitor center, next to another great park in Houston, Memorial Park and last you can do all the trails in one day. We where seven and we did the all the trails in 5 hours. What's not so great, parking was horrible, the park was packed and on a Sunday. Nature should be a place to unwind and enjoy nature. While we where hiking the trails where way to noisy but not just from the traffic from 610 but the multiple trains, plains and helicopters. Don't get me wrong but if you live in the middle of the city I can see this not an issue. But there where time wen we could not have a conversation from all the traffic noise. But the park is beautiful and we did enjoy it when we where far away from the main road and you could still hear it. You do pay to park, $5 and it's free on thrusday. I'm sure that there's free parking but not with in this park but memorial next door. I'm used to park being quiet to meditate and enjoy nature, but this park is in the middle of the largest city in Texas. It's great if you like the city, if not perfect but if your looking for nice and quiet park, from our experience, not so, but a good place to start to enjoy nature.
