Hillsboro Rush

I’ve tried to avoid posting a review of Rush to this date while trying to sort my son’s membership, but I’m tired. This organization is awful. Communication being the worst part of it all. From the get go, I had my doubts when the coach was lacking communication with the boys during practices and especially during games. There were times he was double booked so he couldn’t make it, arrived late, etc. The boys were placed in a tournament where they were annihilated all because the organization placed them in a higher bracket than they should have been and wouldn’t pull them out because it was “character building.” Even though they didn’t even have enough players to fill a full team either. The club said they would provide resources and nothing. I reached out in August asking about how to remove my son from the program, have attempted to call during their business hours, and never heard back. Finally heard back 1/5/2026 via email and haven’t heard back since they “reached out to their director” 4 days ago. The coach reached out early December I believe asking to meet for a player development meeting, I tried to schedule something else and was ghosted. Nothing to this date. Please. Save yourselves the money, stress, time and find another organization for your kids. Team White deserves better than this lackluster communication.

For the rec league it really all depends on what volunteer coach they get. My daughter tried out for the competitive team and was accepted but she is in 1st grade and they were asking for $1,300 to be in the competitive league. That seems crazy for a 1st grader. I’d rather give her some group lessons with a trainer and keep her in rec for that amount. SMH

My daughter has played multiple seasons with H.R. every time I request a coach they never place my daughter with the same coach and I have been trying to speak with someone about it and no one has reached out. I called their office and they hanged up on me then the next person that answered had no clue what to say or do but to direct me to someone named Jaimee. I have emailed them about this issue and still no response or fix. Sad how they can’t be more organized and make these kids happy by giving them a good experience and placing them with their friends and Coach that has requested the child to be on their team. What’s the purpose of the questionnaire when signing up???

I’ve been a parent within Hillsboro Rush (Soccer) since 2009. Their focus has always been on the player and parent experience. My boys have learned not just how to be better players but better people. I appreciate the job well done by the staff, coaches and families I have been honored to meet. Thank your Hillsboro Rush for being community focused and inspiring the youth of Hillsboro to love and live through beautiful game.

My experience with this league varies based upon the attitude of the volunteer coaches. For one child, it was wonderful, each child played equally. They did not have a bunch of wins, but the point of the non-competitive program is for the children to gain a love for the sport. On the other hand, my other child was turned off to the sport by the coach. He was excited to play his first season, but soon realized his skill level was deficit and became bashful. Instead of encouraging him, the coach decided it to disregard and benched him most of the season. I was waiting to see when he would go over the positions and the basics to the new players and it never happened. The last game we went to he played 5 minutes total, even after asking the coach to be put in twice. The was a "starter" list of kids who played most of the game, while 5 "new" kids had to rotate two positions. The coaches are supposed to role model sportsmanship. Winning should be secondary to children's moral, esp in a non-competitive league. Rush needs to emphasize this to its coaches. We will try another league.
