Groves Learning Organization (Groves Academy) in St. Louis Park runs summer programs for students entering grades 2–8 who have dyslexia, ADHD, and other language-based learning differences. Small-class, multisensory academic instruction plus enrichment, taught by Groves-trained teachers, helps students build skills and confidence before the school year. It is a nonprofit specializing in learning differences.

★Grace PerkinsI attended here in the mid 2000s and have always been apprehensive for sharing my experience. I’ve decided to come forward and share. I would never send my child here. Studies show that learning disabilities are a individualized approach, and Groves does not provide this; which is odd due to its speciality in learning disabilities. I was also diagnosed with the wrong disability thanks to this school. I was put on lots of medication as well due to this school that have caused lots of long term issues in my health as new studies are emerging on over medicated children in adulthood and the effects of over medicating. Studies also show that women are often misdiagnosed as they are under represented in studies. This was certainly the case for me; years later being formally diagnosed with dyslexia and autism; not ADHD like this school said. I often did not like the activities at this school, which were mostly directed to what some would traditionally associate with boy activities and was always made to feel like I was a problem due to this. The teachers here are terrible and the school is just rich kids with parents who have way too much time on their hands. I can assure you I had better help in a public school setting on a IEP plan. I was relieved when I no longer had to attend this school. I still have nightmares of attending here all these years later.
