I have enjoyed the Great Miami Valley YMCA in Fairfield, OH. Every part of the facility is clean and well maintained. I appreciate that the equipment such as the warm water pool is being taken care of. The maintenance and all staff do an excellent job dealing with the rare mechanical difficulties that arise. I know they all care about all members' comfort and convenience is always their priority. I thank them for giving me the opportunity to improve my health is a safe environment.
I have always loved this ymca better than other locations. The building is old and interesting. They also have a steam room which most facilities lack. It is also less busy than many other gyms and is walking distance from my house so it is hard to beat for anyone close to downtown Hamilton.
We visited the facility for three weeks to attend level one water safety. As a lifelong swimmer, I immediately knew the chemical levels of the pool were off walking into the facility. Once inside the pool area, the air was thick with chlorine that burned my eyes (outside of the water) and irritated our skin in the water. The locker rooms are nice and pretty well kept considering we visited at the end of the day. The front desk was often unattended and I just walked through the lobby, past the wall of glass doors and on to the pool area. The easy access was convenient for me, buy not great for security purposes. I also noticed the music from the fitness area was extremely loud. It would be deafening to be inside the room with it. We ended up missing the fourth lesson and decided not to continue there for all the reasons above. If anything, we'd wait and go to the Lebanon Countryside YMCA.
This indoor pool is.probably the cleanest pool that I have ever swam in. Locker rooms are sparkling clean and well equipped. Gym machines are always well maintained and clean also.
