We love Gold Swim School! Ms. Stacy and Ms. Ginger are so sweet. My 3 year old loved his lessons with Ms. Ginger!

We can't say enough nice things about the staff at Gold. Our daughter has been going there since about 15 months and she's now almost 4. The staff and the instructors know her name and they truly go out of their way to make her feel comfortable and loved. It means a lot, especially as learning something new can be a little scary. A special shout out to Ms. Stacy for being the absolute best but we have truly loved and appreciated everyone who has helped our girl with her confidence and swimming skills every weekend (including, but definitely not limited to, Ms. Eleanor and Mr. Avery!).

My kids did a semi-private instruction over the summer with Ms. Stacy and Ms. Ginger. Wow! Did they look forward to swim class each week! Both of their skills dramatically improved as did their confidence in the water. I am blown away by how much better my kids are at swimming now. We tried other places with my eldest son but never felt like he was experiencing much of a learning curve there. We are so happy with Gold Swim due to their level of professionalism and dedication and now recommend them to anyone who wants their kids to learn how to be more confident swimmers.

Before coming to Gold Swim School we tried group lessons at another place, and private lessons with two different swim instructors. Nothing worked and my daughter was at the point that she didn’t want to do anything related to swim. I was able to chat with Ms. Ginger (instructor at Gold Swim) about our swim experience and she highly recommended us trying out Gold Swim School. Making that initial call and setting everything up was so easy. My daughter (6 years old) was nervous the day of her first swim lesson but once she got to Gold Swim and got into the water.. she was a totally different child. She was always scared of putting her face in the water and she did it the very first class. She ask me daily to go back to Gold Swim and do more swim lessons. Gold Swim School you are amazing and my daughter loves her teacher Ms Carley.

We've been bringing our daughter here for swim team lessons and are having a great experience. We did not sign her up to learn to swim as a survival skill, she already had a few months of swimming lessons and was confident swimming, treading water, etc. We were looking to join a swim team, and when I searched, " Swim Team near me" I found quite a few choices. I checked out their websites, reviews and called Gold. They are located right off Main Street in Woodstock behind the Amphitheatre, in the Woodstock Aquatic Center. They have parking at the Amphitheater plenty more private parking around back. They have two very warm indoor pools, one being Olympic size (maybe with a retractable roof? Not sure - read plaque image below for more info on Olympic History) that was built for the 1996 Olympics. The swim team has open assessments regularly. At the time I did not know this team was one of the top 20 teams in the US of its size. But everyone has to start somewhere, so at the assessment they asked my daughter to show them freestyle, backstroke, etc. which she knew none of because she is in first grade. We were told they would love to have her on their team, but they train to compete, and even if she was the fastest swimmer, she would get disqualified if she didn't do her strokes correctly. So, the first step is to learn the proper strokes and turns. They have specific swim classes for the pro classes, once a week or twice a week. It's one teacher with two or three students, and each get tons of one-on-one coaching on technique and practice. They have a positive reward ten ribbon system that helps everyone understand their personal skill accomplishments. Once the student earns all ten ribbons, they qualify to be on a swim team, and have a skill they will never lose. The more often you go, obviously the faster you learn. We go once a week and are close to her 8th ribbon, so I'll be sure to post an update on that later. It has been great to give her a chance to swim all year long, not just when the neighborhood pool is open. From Harper, 7: "I like that the teachers are nice, they teach us how to swim good and I have fun!" So far we highly recommend and will update soon! Update: One year later from our first visit, after attending classes once a week (and missing quite a few classes due to, well, life) We are thrilled to share that our 7 year old has officially made the Cherokee Gold swim team! We are so thankful for Miss Stacy, Miss Ginger and the rest of her friends at Gold Swim School that helped her learn her strokes. Our daughter had fun, it was no pressure and exactly what she needed. If you’re looking for a supportive swim school to teach your kids confidence and the proper techniques and skills, this is the place for you!
