Google Reviews
Powered by GoogleI will never, ever recommend this place. We sent our twins here seven years ago and our daughter (who was then 12) for Summer Camp. They not only fed one of our sons (who has many anaphylactic allergies ), one of his main listed anaphylactic allergens which resulted in us having to medicate him, they also kept one of his home-packed lunches over a weekend and then FED him the OLD leftover moldy lunch on the following Monday instead of the new lunch we sent in, despite him complaining to one of the staff in the cafeteria that it didn’t taste right, and with our other twin? One of the teenage camp counselors was tired of him taking so long to catch up with the rest of the group (he was lagging behind due to chronic congenital knee problems- he’s had seven total knee surgeries as of now at age 14, then was 7 and had already had two knee surgeries), so the camp staff pushed him down a wet slope to hurry him along, causing him to fall on his arm, which caused a buckle fracture= BREAKING HIS ARM. Our son told us a few years later that the counselor kid was frustrated with him and pushed him and that was why he fell. If we had known at the time, we would’ve sued. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! I will never, ever recommend this camp to anyone. So you know my review is legitimate, see attached photos of my kids from the Gate Hill photo album, highlighted at the top. We’ve been a Gate Hill family for years, and camp is hands-down our kids’ favorite activity of the year! They start counting down the days to summer months in advance. As we head into our 6th and 4th summers at Gate Hill, we continue to be amazed by the friendships, memories, and experiences it provides. Gate Hill is truly a special place, and we’re so grateful to be part of this wonderful community! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place is big enough to accommodate 200 campers, the personal is very efficient and courteous.
Robert touched me inappropriately while on lunch break. other than that good spot delicious meals!!
My husband and I have been searching for a safe, secure, trusted, and fun place for our 5 year old to attend for the summer, we are fairly new to to upstate New York area and were having trouble finding a place that was both stimulating and safe. Many of the other options in the area and surrounding, while affordable and packed with activities, were lacking in security, safety, and experienced staff/counselors, we just didn't feel at ease anywhere. A friend told us about Gate Hill, and yes, at first the sticker shock can be a lot, but truly, TRULY worth it. We went in for our tour yesterday and met with Andy and Erin, both are professional, kind, patient, and made us feel very confident in our choice to attend. The facilities are immaculate and the daily roster leaves no time for boredom. Each day is packed with more options than a cheesecake factory menu! There are trained and seasoned counselors, lifeguards, a nurse, and more to ensure children's safety, full lunch menu options, and carefully curated groupings for children, (children are grouped by age/gender/locality) to ensure they're all active at the same levels and can continue their friendships well beyond the summer program. We are thrilled to join Gate Hill and can see why families return year after year. Thank you for a wonderful lasting impression, Andy and Erin!
