Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center and Park is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) membership organization formed in the late 1990s to support Bristol's Steele Creek Park - at over 2,200 acres the third-largest municipal park in Tennessee, with a 54-acre lake and nearly 2,000 acres of undeveloped forest. It publicizes and supports the park's naturalist-led summer nature camps, which run half-days, 8:30am to noon, for ages 7-12, and it offers guided hikes, year-round public programs and custom programming for schools, scouts, churches and homeschool co-ops.

Paddie boat rentals, pavilions, disc golf, a nine hole golf course, putting green, driving range and miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. For children - train ride, splash pad, and playgrounds. Coming soon - a giant ground sloth replica skeleton and exhibit.
