Truly a wonderfully, awe-inspiring 'place apart'. The vast amount of woods they have with property extending to 2 different mountain peaks make for some great hikes with scenic sunrise and sunset views! The staff do an excellent job of making sure everyone feels heard and respected during their time up on the mountain. A very blessed place being maintained by faith-driven staff. Cannot recommend enough.

This was my first year bringing my kids to this camp, and we will definitely be coming back. Coming from South Florida, this was a most welcome change of scenery, and something my kids had never been a part of before. The programs kept them active and engaged, the counselors really connected with them, plenty of food to eat (better than average camp-style food), and the new director Missy was an absolute joy. As a parent, I was able to choose how much or how little I wanted to engage with the day to day activities. After all, sometimes it is just a treat to sit at the Crow's Nest and fellowship with the other adults and grow closer together ourselves.

Lutherock is an amazing place to share the beauty of God’s nature in North Carolina. Counselors led my group of 8th grade students through hikes, climbing, zip lining, ropes, games, campfires and offsite caving, rafting, and visit to Grandfather’s Mountain. The camp is well maintained and provides counselors who are well trained, fun, patient, and lead with Christian character. Everyday brought a new outdoor adventure for my students with the days ending with campfires, s’mores, singing, personal reflections and devotions. We look forward to returning each year.

Wonderful place for a faith based retreat. Beautiful trails for hiking, rock climbing, great place to see wildlife (deer, bear, owls, etc.). In addition the lodges have been had a lot of updates and repairs. Founders Lodge has basketball, a heated covered picnic area, good sized industrial kitchen, gaga ball pit, a large room for gathering and 2 other rooms with lots of bunks and bathrooms w/ showers. This is a special place to grow your faith and be inspired!

I’ve been bringing church youth to camp here for about a dozen years now, to include my own boys. The only thing that’s ever been a disappointment is when it’s time to leave. The kids absolutely love this place & look forward to coming back each summer. The programs are diverse & engaging, the setting is breathtakingly beautiful & the cool mountain air here above 4000 feet is a nice reprieve during the hot summer. The staff has always been friendly, accommodating & welcoming. You won’t find kids clinging to screens or social media here either. A rare place where kids can still be kids, in a true, old fashion, camp environment. Lots of singing, playing & fellowship. Over the years our church youth has enjoyed ski retreats, zip lining, caving, white water rafting, backpacking, rock climbing, ropes courses, crafts, campfires & outdoor games here at Lutherock. The food has always been great & there are options galore, from gluten-free, to vegetarian & everything in between. I’ve never seen a kid leave camp hungry. I’d highly recommend sending any kid to camp here or just renting a cabin or getting a room at their lodge as a weekend get away. I truly believe the memories our church youth have of “camp” will stay with them forever.
