The Franklin Family YMCA runs a summer day camp for kids ages 5-12 (kindergarten completed) as part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, operating 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Days pair a weekly learning theme with swimming and small-group activities, with free water-safety instruction for campers who don't pass the swim test.

Google Reviews
Powered by GoogleMost of the reviews seem to be about the service, but I’ve been in and out of this place for over a year, and honestly, I don’t see anything wrong with the service. A lot of it comes down to your attitude and mindset as a customer, which can really shape your overall experience. With that out of the way, I do want to address some more serious issues and frustrations I’ve had as a member of this gym. Unfortunately, the Franklin YMCA is bursting at the seams. It is almost always packed and cramped, and there usually isn’t enough equipment to go around. Most of the time, it is even hard to find enough space to do arm raises without accidentally hitting someone next to you. If you want to get through leg day, it can be very difficult to find an open spot. The leg machines are almost always completely packed. You may even find yourself skipping a leg exercise altogether because you simply can’t fit it in. They really need double the machines to accommodate the amount of people coming in. That said, I understand that may not be possible because there just isn’t enough room. Unless they knock down a wall or remove the childcare section, it most likely isn’t going to happen. If you’re looking for more breathing room, more variety, and more machines, I would definitely check out Carbon in town, or look into a higher end gym. Overall, this place is just packed.
Very out dated Y. The showers are small and very dirty and molded. The staff is very quick at pointing out why someone is on the phone but not enforcing their own policy why people come in the sauna with shoes making the sauna smell very bad or jump in the pool after sweaty sauna session. You can’t enforce one rule but not the others.
Listen to the people here who are talking about rude staff and trouble canceling memberships. I went in to cancel my membership and got charged anyways. Since then I've spoken to three staff members about this and ultimately got brushed off and ignored. But hey, it looks like I *was* granted that refund. Would have been cool if anyone had tried to apologize or simply address this, at all. If you can help it, go to the Brentwood Y. They've always been friendly and helpful. Besides, this location is hella dated. Franklin deserves better.
This place is top notch, especially for a YMCA. It’s a bit smaller than some other YMCAs that I’ve been to but my 5 star rating is for what they do with the space they have. They have a nice gym with almost every piece of equipment you could want: several chest machines with Hammer Strength brand and pin selector equipment. They have a large assortment of kettle bells, dumbbells, squat machines and racks with platforms, cable rack systems, rows of treadmills and other cardio machines, and much more. They also have a nice sauna, however the sauna is too small for the demand, they could make use of two more of the same size. They have a hot tub and indoor pool and a steam room. They also have a small basketball court, and stationary bike class room. They have other class options and so much more. And it’s always clean!! Great place for the size.
Very odd gym. Front desk and attendants had a bad attitude 95% of the time and I went to the gym for an entire year. There was one older male gym attendant in who was exceedingly militant and rude. He got in my face about having my ear buds in when I was minding my own business working out by the windows by myself not bothering anyone. That was the cherry on top for me! Cancelled our membership and have joined more modern facilities.
