Flex Academies is a DC-area after-school and enrichment program-management company (operating since 2008) that partners with schools and PTAs to run before/after care, enrichment classes, and school-break camps at partner-school sites across several states. Its camps are enrollment programs hosted at partner schools rather than a single fixed-location camp.

Powered by GoogleLack of communication, cancelled summer program a week before school was out. They offer no sliding scale or any opportunity for tuition assistance and I honestly still dont know who worked for the program because the staff i saw were already employed by the school I was very disappointed that our school randomly switched to them.
If you’re looking for a business to take your money while the teachers stand around talking and looking off into space this is the company for you. They’re overpriced and they lack structure. Children are running wild, cursing, fighting and being bullied. To top it off when a child reports to a teacher that they are being hit on by another student the teacher tells the child to go play instead of actually resolving the issue. This company is absolutely ridiculous. The teachers definitely need training. I gave it a one star because they have one awesome teacher Ms. Rachael that does her absolute best to resolve and correct every issue. She has been amazing.
The staff from this program at Hearst Elementary is passive aggressive. I don’t even pay for these services. I simply let my children eat breakfast at 8 am and then on 2 occasions after they ate I wanted to allow them to play in the yard before school started. The staff intervened telling me no. However I don’t pay for your services so don’t say anything to me let alone tell me no….who do they think they are.
Update: After posting this review, the company contacted me and provided a refund as requested. Signed son up for a class that was cancelled due to covid. Requested refund via email, web form, phone call, and an ignored BBB complaint. Never received a response. Highly advise PTAs to avoid partnership.
My daughter's school uses their online portal to "streamline" the after school activities. It's horrible - all of the costs of the classes have gone up. The staff there to check students out is negligent at best. One day the worker asked me who I was picking up 4 times within 10 minutes.... There were maybe 10 other part there at the time. This happened multiple times. Hopefully there aren't any custody issues, because they never once verified who I said I was, but if you said you didn't know if you were on the approved list, they would suddenly care who you were. The icing on the cake would have to be the refund for this spring - 60-90 says. What a joke.
