The Hoover Met Complex runs its Summer Sports Camp in Hoover, a seven-week multi-sport day camp for rising 1st through rising 7th graders. Each weekly camp encompasses a variety of focused sports play with instruction that promotes physical fitness, nutrition awareness, self-confidence, self-discipline, teaming and leadership. Campers rotate through featured outdoor sports and activities including baseball, flag football, frisbee football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis and the playground and splash pad, plus indoor sports including basketball, climbing, futsal, hockey, kickball, pickleball, running and volleyball. Campers also take part in free play, STEM activities with real-world applications to sports, and self-select games and activities that interest them. Each week carries its own theme, and the operator offers an optional Before and After Care Program and an optional hot lunch.

Seating was limited for a tournament of that magnitude, but there was a lot of standing room. We noticed that some visitors that had been there before brought soft over-the-shoulder chairs, and that was a great idea. Overall totally impressed with the facility, and can't wait for our next tourney there.
