The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Emmorton Recreation Office directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

EMMORTON REC HAS REALLY WENT SOUTH THE LAST FEW YEARS ITS NOT A COMPETITIVE REC LEAGUE NOR IS IT RAN CORRECTLY discrimination favoritism very unknowledgeable referees VERY BAD COMMUNICATION NOT PROFESSIONAL LOTS OF BAD SPORTSMANSHIP, THE EVERYBODY GETS A COOKIE AND TROPHY BS, MUCH BETTER PROGRAMS IN THE SAME AREA DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH A BAD EXPERIENCE FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILD! YOU BEEN WARNED!
Communication is very poor in this organization. I have withdrawn my grandson football registration because of it being a contact sport. I have been trying for a month or more to get my refund. Everyone on the community has a email, but don't respond. I guest my next step is to personally make an appearance.
I signed my son up for a week of basketball camp. We never received any emails, communication was extremely poor! We paid for a weeks worth of lunch which included pizza, chips and a drink. The first two days of camp, my son was not offered a drink (although we paid for it)!!! We called and complained. Apparently, he was suppose to ask for his drink. Excuse me, but these are 8 and 9 year old children. Some are vocal and some are not. Some know the rules and some do not. Learn to work with children, they are not adults!! The last day of camp, the location was changed without any notification! This was a major inconvenience! Please advise parents of changes, there needs to be more efficient communication and please do not rely on children to relay information to parents.
They have decent rec sports programs, but they need to move into the 21st century. You have to sign up in person on certain dates and communication is poor. I signed my daughter up and it's 2 weeks before practice starts and I have still yet to hear anything...not even a 'were working on teams' etc. I emailed the program coordinator and it's been 5 days and no answer either. Only reason I chose emmorton is BC it's close and my daughter is only 5. I'll go back to Bel Air next year, much better run programs.
