Extremely dishonest and unorganized club. Constantly changing coaches without informing parents. Constantly increasing costs. Practices consist mostly of scrimmaging. Very little technical training. The head of many age groups Dan James is very dishonest and terrible communication. Will completely ignore emails and calls. Is not open to discussing issues. Trainings constantly canceled. Huge conflicts of interest with the company supplying uniforms being directly connected financially to the head of the company. Avoid at all costs. There are much better clubs.

2 separate incidents with same coach where has no control of his parents or other staff and they start cussing during games at other coaching staff. There is no accountability and coach just allows it to happen.

Volunteering as a coach at Elk Grove Soccer Club has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. When our age group coordinator, Sara, first got me into this adventure, I had no idea what to expect. I signed up because my kid was on the waitlist and wanted her to be able to play. The club’s communication was well-organized, with updates and guidelines passed from the club to coaches and then relayed to families. This line of communication kept everyone informed and ensured a smooth experience for both players and parents. Season Structure and Games The season structure was well-planned, with 9 games scheduled from August to November 2024. It gave our team plenty of opportunities to grow and improve over the summer and early fall. We’re already looking forward to the spring season, which kicks off in May 2025! Watching the girls gain confidence, come out of their shells, and learn to play as a team was nothing short of amazing. For someone who’s never coached or played soccer, I was inspired by the Ted Lasso series and focused on helping players find their best self. The season felt a bit like trying hot tea for the first time: a little rough and uncomfortable at first, with the heat and chaos, but ultimately was really rewarding as the girls came together as a team. Referees We were fortunate to have fair and supportive referees for our U9 girls’ games. They maintained a positive atmosphere, making sure the matches were safe, enjoyable, and educational. Their guidance helped reinforce the importance of sportsmanship and respect and despite not always agreeing with the ref, the games were a great learning experience for the players. Volunteer Coaches and Parent Support A big part of our success was thanks to the incredible support from parent volunteers. Sarahanne, Sergio, and Dominique all stepped up/ as assistant coaches. Sarahanne, a player parent, saw an opportunity to help lead the girls, drawing from her own experiences playing youth soccer. Sergio and Dominique brought their energy and dedication, supporting and uplifting the team in practices and games. Their combined passion made a huge impact, and the kids were lucky to have them all. Beyond coaching, other parents pitched in by organizing snack days, bringing benches and tents, and doing everything else needed to make the experience memorable. The kids got to witness a true sense of community, with everyone coming together to support their team. Looking Ahead As we look forward, I’m excited that on Asst Coach is planning to coach in the spring, and I hope our girls decide to stay together and continue playing. I might even consider another season myself, this time with my youngest daughter’s team. Elk Grove Soccer Club has truly been a place of growth, joy, and incredible memories for both me and the kids. I’m grateful for every moment and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Don’t trust on Elk Grove Soccer club The worst club for kids and don’t enroll your kids here they steal money, I enrolled my kids and right after enrolling my kids. My kids don’t want to join they refuse to give refund they never respond to your call and emails. after three months they reply saying we can refund your money because it already pass three months. It is better to go somewhere else that is not a good place to enroll any school students or college students. Find somewhere else.

My son currently plays 2011 competitive. He has played recreational previously. This club has amazing dedicated coaches but the club is more concerned about the money, not having quality players. My son is committed and dedicated and other players are not! To be apart of a comp team it should be mandatory that players attend X amount of training sessions. My son isn’t progressing because of the lack of others. Absolutely terrible!
