Youth summer sailing at Davis Island in Tampa is run by the nonprofit Davis Island Youth Sailing Foundation, which offers full-day, week-long learn-to-sail camps for children ages 5 to 18 on Hillsborough Bay. Campers cover boat parts and sailing basics, and a separate race team (DIRT) runs across roughly ten weeks of summer. No experience is required.

We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Davis Island Yacht Club directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleIncredibly disappointed by the food here. For a club that poses as a high-end establishment, serving terrible burgers and overly salty gyros is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the shrimp tacos literally only had two shrimp in them. Add a couple more so the plate doesn’t look so miserable
DIYC held an excellent Hospice Charity event yesterday
Nice private yacht club that is big into sailing. Note to visit, you must be a member or have a reciprocal visitation agreement with another yacht club. They have a 2 story clubhouse built about 21 years ago. It has a bar and open dining room upstairs with a wrap around porch. It has great views for sunset.
Initially invited by a friend who is a world class catamaran racer to crew during Thursday’s Regatta. Boat owners are very welcoming and grateful for those willing to crew, regardless of the extent of your crewing experience I have met many wonderful, like-minded individuals, from all walks of life enjoying a peaceful evening racing South Shore to Bayshore, out of Davis Island yacht club. Thank you DIYC, Racing Club, Captains: Jamie and Calvin, (et.al) for the memorable experience. ⛵️
We spent the day watching our dear granddaughter sailing in a regatta. It was wonderful and those kids were sailing boats singlehandedly all day. The views were spectacular including planes flying in and out of the local airfield. Davis islands racing team was great.
