DASSdance is a nonprofit Seattle contemporary dance school and company that runs week-long summer dance camps and intensives, Monday to Friday, each with a theme. Campers sample multiple styles - contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip hop, acro and tap - plus arts and crafts and outdoor play, and create choreography performed for families on the last day. Camps are split into Lil' Dance Camp (ages 3-6), Kids Dance Camp (ages 6-10), Dance Explosion (ages 5-11) and Jr./Sr. Intensive (ages 9-18); weekly evening summer classes run in two three-week sessions as an alternative.

Powered by GoogleTruly so thankful for this studio. My daughter's friends parents recommenced this studio because of my daughters love for dance. I will say that being a single Mother that I was hesitant and nervous thinking about if my daughters would be able to have this opportunity… but like the amazing people they are, this studio has accommodating to our lives. I truly am sooo thankful for Mr. Daniel, Cathleen and their dance teacher who have shown soooo much love for daughters and made things possible for us to be apart of this studio. My family and I went to first performance & your jaw will legitimately be dropped about how passionate and how talented each every dancer is. It’s truly amazing what can happen if you invest into your children and their passions. Thank you so much Dass dance studio for everything you have done for us! We are so excited to grow and dance with you!
My daughter LOVES DASSdance. She did beginning ballet for one session and then switched to the beginning acro class! She really loves gymnastics, but there's nothing really close to us for that. So this is perfect. There is a DASSdance performance (which is not required) and does have additional fees, but my daughter has really enjoyed being part of it. Overall the cost (even including the performance fees) is comparable to other studios. So far it's the one after school activity my daughter has that she has stuck with!!
Our daughter danced at several other studios before coming to DASS. She attended their nutcracker performance when she was 6 and begged to enroll. She has taken ballet and contemporary as well as tap. She would take every class they offered if we were able to provide her with transportation. She loves that the classes are centered not only on technique, but also working on choreography for the 2+ annual shows that students have an opportunity to dance in. DASS seems to really care about their dancers and wants dance to be a place for positivity and creativity as well as discipline. Highly recommend!
We learned about DASSdance through a friend who mentioned their child was in hip hop. We signed up for mini-tap this year and it was perfect for my child. The teachers are knowledgeable and create a fun learning environment for the students. The spring recital was one of the highlights of my year- it was so wonderful to see my child perform with confidence and a smile on their face. We can't wait to grow in the DASSdance community for many years to come.
I cannot say enough positive things about DASSdance! We first learned about them through an after school class they ran at our daughter's elementary school, which she LOVED. We signed her up for a summer camp (where she got to design a show!), which made clear this was a perfect fit for our young dancer. The instructors and directors are amazing, infusing all of their work with joy and support. We were so sad to leave the DASSdance community when we recently moved away from Seattle and are thankful for the confidence and love of dance they instilled in our daughter. Highly recommend!!
