d'Art Center is a nonprofit artist-studio and gallery in Norfolk's NEON District that runs a summer arts day camp for ages 6-14. Campers try different mediums through weekly 30-minute demonstrations by resident d'Art artists, build themed projects, and take trips to the Chrysler Museum of Art and Perry Glass Studio; a separate pottery camp serves ages 8-11 and, in select weeks, 12-14. Camp runs eight themed weeks from June into August, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a limited number of need-based scholarships are available through a sponsorship.

I had the same experience as other one star reviewers. I received not acceptance email the next day after the deadline. That never happened to me before because there is always a jurying period of a couple of weeks before rejections are emailed. My works were rejected despite my email and pics communication with the juror Amanda Bradley, the gallery director, who assured me that my works will be "a good fit for the exhibit" for her Got Wax exhibition. Artists, be aware!

Amazing venue. I truly enjoyed the studio spaces that they have for local artists to work and showcase their talent.

My wife's friend is A professional artist and was showing her art there. Extra ordinary pieces of art there and the in house artists, management, and staff were amazing 👏

Made a roadtrip with my sisters to drop off a painting for an exhibition called VIVID. Showing from 10/12/24-11/16/24 If you live around those neck of the woods go check it out ✌🏻

I love this new location! There are a number of terrific and talented resident artists whose work you can admire along with a rotating exhibit featuring artists from all over. I highly recommend taking a paint pour class with resident artist Deanna. She's a great teacher who makes sure everyone is completely satisfied with the art they've created. If you get a chance to do a wine glass dip class, you'll be super pleased with a custom set of wine glasses you can keep for yourself or give as a beautiful gift.
