Terrible league! They hire high school kids to be refs and nowadays high school kids have 0 respect. Their attitude was insane and I absolutely would NOT recommend taking your kid to this league. It is not just the refs that are rude, there is 0 accountability ever taken by the board, the coaches are more worried about their ego than the kids. Lastly today I sadly witnessed the director (whose name I don’t know but always in the same chargers hat) scream and curse at a couple of his refs while there were kids around. Another coach earlier in the year came and screamed and cursed in front of all the kids and got no punishment of any sort. Thats not all, today I also witnessed a referee about high school age scream in the face of on of the team’s mothers who was not approaching aggressively in anyway. This league truly out did themselves with embarrassment this year. This league is 100% a way for the adults in charge of it to hold onto whatever meaningless athletic career they had. This is the 11U program and the men in charge of this league should be ashamed of themselves. If they would like this post removed they can respond or contact me personally, I would have no problem settling this and maybe it is a misunderstanding but it was this way for the entire season and even got worse throughout. The refs, coaches, and men in charge have made this league all about them and it sets the kids up for a terrible experience.

There's flag football, there's tackle football and then there's CYFFA which is right in-between. It teaches blocking and rushing but in ways that are safe and age appropriate. My youngest son has been playing in CYFFA for 4 years now and he has loved every moment of it. The league has divisions based on age groups and offers a closer replication of the football you see at higher levels than you see in other leagues. If you're looking for a well run league, with people that care about the players, the coaches and the parents on the sideline then this is the league for you.

From the moment we signed up when our boys were in the youngest (SCRIM) division, it was clear that CYFFA was something special. The organization, dedication, and enthusiasm of everyone involved made for an awesome experience for our kids (as players and now referees) as well as ourselves. Exceptional Organization and Volunteers: The league's organization is top-notch. Everything runs smoothly, from the registration process to the weekly games. The volunteers, who are the backbone of this league, are simply outstanding. They are always friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about the sport and the kids. Positive Player Experience: For my children as players, the league has been a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow. Their coaches have been knowledgeable and patient, fostering a love for the game while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development. Each practice and game was structured to be fun and educational, making sure that every child, regardless of their skill level, feels included and valued. Empowering Referee Experience: What has been particularly heartwarming is seeing my older kids return as referees. The league offers a wonderful program for former players to stay involved by volunteering their time and gaining valuable leadership experience. Watching them take on these responsibilities with confidence and pride has been incredibly rewarding. The support and training they receive from the league staff ensure they are well-prepared for their roles. A True Community: The sense of community with CYFFA is strong, and it's clear that everyone involved is dedicated to making it a positive and enriching experience for all. Whether it's the excitement of game day or the camaraderie built during practice, there's a palpable sense of joy and connection that permeates every event. This is a great league and organization, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants their child to experience the physical and competitive nature of football without having to commit to tackle football. This league differs from "passing leagues" in that contact (blocking, rushing, etc.) is allowed, but in a safe and controlled manner. A great preparation for tackle football or just a good substitution, depending on what you're looking for.

My son has been involved in the Conejo Youth Flag Football Association for the last 4 years. I have to say our experience with this league has been extremely rewarding. It is a well run league with good coaches. If you want your child to get into football, but are concerned about the injuries of tackle football, than this is your league. This league is the closet league I have found to tackle football, without the tackling and/or fear of concussions. I highly recommend this league to anyone with children who is into and wants to get into football.
