Community School of the Arts

The NIU Community School of the Arts is the year-round community music school of Northern Illinois University's College of Visual and Performing Arts in DeKalb, and a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education. It offers private and group music instruction, ensembles, a Suzuki program and chamber music workshops taught by NIU faculty, students and community artists, for all ages and skill levels, with scholarships and grants available. Its summer camps are run under the same office as a separate program, Summer in the Arts at NIU.
