Phantom Regiment is a Rockford-based nonprofit youth drum and bugle corps that blends marching arts and athletics, and was the 1996 Drum Corps International World Champion. Its flagship corps is not an open-enrollment camp: membership is limited to roughly 135 spots filled by annual audition from more than 400 applicants, and members are aged 16 to 22. Selected members commit to multiple winter and spring rehearsal camps followed by a 60-day national tour each summer. The organization also runs Rockford Rhythm, educational camps and high school band festivals.
