Code Ninjas Burke runs week-long summer coding camps for kids ages 5 to 14 at its centre on Old Keene Mill Road. Camps are themed around game development, robotics, Roblox, Minecraft and YouTube, with campers building real projects under instructors the company calls Code Senseis. Sessions run Monday to Friday as half-days, 9am-12pm or 12:30-3:30pm, at $250 per week; both halves can be booked for a full day with a packed lunch, and paid early drop-off (8-9am) and late pick-up (3:30-5pm) are each $60 a week.

My 7-year old is in the after-school drop-in program, and he goes twice a week for an hour each time. He's been going 5 months and he's already up to using a professional programming language called JavaScript. On the surface he's building games, but he's actually learning logic, math, critical thinking, and basic computer science concepts. There's also a good website to track his progress and see the projects he's built.
