★Michael MadonnaI have been going to the coatesville ymca for 25 years. I have been taking my 2 kids there since they were born (about 10 years). My 9 year old son is non verbal autistic and I’ve had multiple issues with the child care to the point where I stopped even trying to use it years ago. About 4 years ago I spent a whole summer at the outdoor pool at cville y and taught my son and daughter how to swim. Usually when we got to the pool I have to explain to the lifeguard my son won’t wear a wrist band bc of his sensory issues. He swims perfectly fine anywhere in the pool without supervision even needed. The past few years they allow us to swim without any harassment other then having to explain to every new lifeguard the situation. Today was the first time I took them there this summer and after the lifeguards watched him swimming for hours one of them jumped in like he was drowning and pulled him out of the water two times. I tried to tell him the situation and he rudely said no one is allowed in the pool without a wristband. This is not AUTISM FRIENDLY! This is unacceptable. We had to leave and have our pool day cut short. My son was confused like he did something wrong just for being a kid.

They just sit there on these machines and play on their phones for a long time. It's extremely annoying to people like me who just want to get their strength training in but yet we can't say anything to these machine/equipment monopolizers.... probably going to find another gym.

★★★Eric JacksonMid-facility. Gym is nice but amenities aren’t great. Deflated basketballs, private bathrooms have been under construction since late December 2025. I was told they’d be up and running by March but here we are, March 30th and they still have no idea when they’ll be up and running. I only come here because my wife utilizes the care program for our son while she works out. That team is awesome. The locker room shower is disgusting. Scum everywhere and smells. Shower shoes are a must if you are limited with time before work. If you’re willing to pay $100+ per month just for the gym, go anywhere else.

The ymca app is very good and easy to check all the scheduled activities and classes.. The outdoor pool is really good. They have a lot of activities during the day as well as in the evening like yoga, meditation,workouts etc . They have a decent parking lot.
