Coastline Adventures runs kids' surfing, bodyboarding and stand-up paddleboard camps at Brick Beach 3 in Mantoloking, with SUP programs based at Trader's Cove Marina and Park. Kids' camps are booked as 1-, 3- or 5-day sessions scheduled around low tide, running either 8:30-11:30 a.m. or 1-4 p.m., so they are half-day rather than full-day; all equipment is included and private or semi-private lessons are available from age 5. Camps run seven days a week from mid-May through October, weather and surf permitting, with off-season lessons by appointment. The school is accredited by the National Surf School and Instructor Association and its instructors are First Aid, CPR and AED certified.

In fact our instructors really went out of their way to make this informal sea-side camping experience (like I originally envisioned) into a full-on training session. On one hand, it was Jennifer - who walked me through all surfing etiquettes, survival techniques & maneuvering skills. On the other hand, there was Lance - a tough task-master, who pushed us through our limits. Both were a killer combination in getting me on-board (literally :)) with my very 1st shot at surfing. To top it all, I was lucky to be a part of a crew full of trainees that were so co-operative, so friendly!!! Can't wait to go again... & again 🏄
