Private
St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation runs the city's summer camps at its recreation centers, open to students entering grades 1 through 9 and running roughly June 1 through August 7. Play Camp serves younger grades and Teen Camp serves grades 7-9, with activities spanning arts and crafts, sports and field trips; separate Nature Camps run ten weeks in summer. Weekly fees are about $78 for Play Camp and $82 for Teen Camp at full price, with reduced and free tiers for qualifying families plus Early Learning Coalition assistance.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

I want to express a special “Thank you” to Ms. Conte whom works this office. She was terrific helping me with my business matters. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional while we worked together. Thank you Ms. Conte and you are truly an asset to St Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department. All my best going forward Ms.Conte….
My 4-year-old was in a nature camp at Boyd Hill this week, through SPP&R. I picked her up Monday and Tuesday, and not a single person was monitoring pick-up or interacting with the adults who were taking the kids from the classrooms. Parents were looking for their kids in multiple classrooms, asking clueless staff where they were. Staff didn’t even talk unless approached. There was a table with a sign-out sheet, but no one there. Anyone could walk in and take the kids. They had certainly never seen me before, and I grabbed mine. Several other parents were concerned. Definitely not going back this week, or ever leaving my kid in the care of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation again.
I cannot find enough words in English language to express how wonderful Eileen Conte @ City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation is. She always goes above and beyond, and shows how much she cares for our City and our people. Her picture should be in our City Hall because she is the best Ambassador and Representative of our city! She always demonstrates what a true public servant should be like ! Thank you Eileen Conte !
