Children's Theatre Workshop is a long-running Toledo nonprofit offering week-long theatre camps where kids act, sing, dance, craft and play games, no experience needed. Camps run Monday-Friday 9am-5pm for ages 6-12 ($220), with a half-day (9am-1pm) option for ages 4-5; campers are grouped by age in small groups of 10-12.

★Jason RabyThis is not a safe place for all. My son reported a racial slur that was said by a cast mate and repeated by another. His teachers informed him and myself that the issue would be addressed to the entire class and was not after nearly a week. Instead of Aimee reaching out directly to the affected party (my son), she called the families of the accused and came up with some cockamamie story as to why the student said the word and why it was repeated. My son needed assurance from the program director, not an excuse. If my son is old enough to experience this, then the class is old enough to have teachable discussions. Words hurt and so do actions. Within the walls of the theater are signs and stickers claiming that it is a safe place and that all are welcome. My son clearly does not believe that and regrets spending three years with this company. People of color are only used for posts on Facebook to show how "inclusive" the company thinks they are but they are not. Aimee wants to show children of color, she just doesn't want to hear them.

★★★★★Tony DanfordMy son has done theatre here for many years and we couldn't be happier with them. Aimee, Rick, Pat, Trina, and all the teachers have shaped my child's life as he's moved from Players Company, to Ensemble to the Teen program. What makes this place different from the Reps children's classes or some of the other area children's theatre, is the class to stage plan. The program starts with 10 weeks of classes where the kids learn the skills they put into action while auditioning, being cast and then memorizing lines, learning blocking, and finally performing the play for an audience. So unlike other programs where it's typically one or the other, audition for a play or take a class, CTW's program combines both to teach kids all the facets of theatre. And kids can also learn and do the technical parts of theatre too. My son typically performs in the play with his age group, but then does lights or sound for the younger groups.
★★★★★Autumn BIt’s a ton of fun I took a class there fallen no “body” to murder, and it was really fun everyone is really nice, all the teachers, you can make a lot of fun memories and inside jokes, you can make new friends, and try something the you might have never done before. It truly is a really amazing place, and they do there best to make everyone feel welcome, and safe I truly recommend it to everyone.
★★★Hi ThereFairly priced. Great location. Your child doesn't need to be a theater star to benefit greatly from theater. Great kids and families. Their programs just keep improving. With that being said--from a parental standpoint be prepared for poor communication in terms of scheduling and return email/phone calls. We have been there for 8 years and have been disappointed recently with the extreme lack of communication. No cast list/schedule no tech week schedule class cancellations not communicated.
