Children's Beach House is a Lewes-based nonprofit whose Youth Development Program provides free weeklong residential summer camps for underresourced Delaware children ages 7-18 with speech and language disabilities and other special needs. Campers spend two to three weeks at the beach house doing swimming, boating, drama, art, cooking and horseback riding to build communication, leadership and confidence.

We experienced inadequate responses to concerns, concerning staff behaviors, and unmet promises of a safe environment at Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center (CDC) at Children's Beach House. After withdrawing our child, we saw significant improvement in their behavior and well-being. Effective leadership and advocacy were lacking under Executive Director Richard Garrett's direction. Carefully evaluate alternatives before entrusting your child's care to this facility.
