Bay Eco-Camp is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's five-day overnight environmental education program, currently offered as a Girls in STEM session for girls ages 13-14. Campers travel by boat to Port Isobel, a remote CBF island education center between Tangier Sound and the Chesapeake Bay, where they conduct hands-on scientific investigations across brackish marsh and open-water habitats and visit the fishing village of Tangier Island. Enrollment is capped at 20 students per session, first-come first-served; drop-off and pick-up are at Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield, Maryland.

Powered by GoogleGot married here in June and it went off without a hitch. The venue is beautiful and offers an excellent place for wedding festivities, both outside and inside (in case of weather). We got so many compliments on our choice, and our guests loved the nature theme/beach photo opportunities. Being able to have dinner in the inside air conditioned space, and dancing outside on the patio was a perfect setup. Shannon, the venue representative, did a fine job of interfacing with our catering team prior to the event and clearly has done this a million times before. She required very little additional mental effort from us. Check out our stellar reviews for RCC Events as a day-of coordinator and Zeffert & Gold as our caterer, as well.
From the moment I first walked through the venue we knew this was the perfect venue for us. It is an absolutely stunning venue that is so unique. We really lucked out with a 80 degree and sunny day the last weekend of October. All the guests were raving about how beautiful the property and venue was. We worked with Shannon to coordinate our day. She was so attentive, patient and crushed it. From the initial coordination meetings she was so detail oriented and perfectly executed our vision for the day. On the day of- she set up, kept the vendors on the timeline, cued the wedding party, kept a drink in my hand and put away my decor. I couldn't have asked for a better day of coordinator. I highly recommend CBF and Shannon!
My husband and I held our wedding reception at CBF last October, and I cannot imagine a better place to have held it. We are both originally from other parts of the country, but in the decade + that we have lived in the mid-Atlantic, we have become very attached to the Chesapeake Bay. So, it was truly special to us to host our event RIGHT on the bay. Our guests were stunned by the views from the deck, and talked about feeling "truly transported" by the experience of being there. CBF is very generous with the space provided for events. The deck is large and accommodates a lot of people; the indoor conference room space attached works well to set up tables for dinner and since it is surrounded by windows provides excellent views while people are eating. The full beach is also accessible to guests while in the space (unfortunately it poured the evening of our event so we couldn't use the beach, but our guests didn't mind). Finally, the staff is outstanding to work with. The events manager is organized and responsive, and the on-site coordinator who is there during the event to keep an eye on things went above and beyond to help out and check in on how things are going. There was nothing negative about the experience from the time of booking until the day of the event.
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is such a bright happy space for a wedding. I have multiple weddings coming up there and it's so nice to be down on the shoreline capturing wedding photos, and enjoying the beautiful view in the glass walled reception space. Here are some photos to help you envision how a wedding or event there looks!
Absolutely gorgeous! The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is a beautiful, unique hidden gem in Annapolis with a private beach and unbeatable views. Their venue manager Emily is always a breeze to work with, professional, responsive, and makes a partnership with them such a pleasure. Photos by Carling and Dakota Photography
