Charlotte Independence Soccer Club is the perfect club if you are looking for a family environment where the coaches are truly invested in your kids. I have had 2 children play for the club and grow up with their teammates who have become closer than friends and more like sisters. Their coaches come watch their high school games and take sincere interest in their lives outside of soccer while also developing them into players that love the game.

Being new to the area, Charlotte Independence has been a great club for my son's soccer development. With it being one of the larger clubs in the area, players have an opportunity to play at several different levels, and they are keen on giving talented players the opportunity to move up whenever possible. Their coaching staff is fantastic! Coach Jordy and Coach Caesar are among the best. Top that off with a dedicated goalie coaching staff. In addition to playing, CISC also gives the the opportunity to be referees. My son has been able to see the sport from a different perspective, and learn more about the rules, while earning some cash. CISC is a well rounded, dynamic soccer club and has been a great place to watch my son hone his skills.

After more than 10 years with Charlotte independence we have witnessed alot of changes. While we have a long history here, the last three years have shown a significant decline in standards, with this season being the most disappointing. We feel it is important to be transparent about why: Culture & Leadership: It is disheartening to see the Director consistently ignore players in passing. He acts like it will absolutely kill him to speak. Furthermore, blaming high school coaches for the departure of six players this year avoids accountability for the internal culture that is driving families away. Coaching Philosophy: We were told by our coach that "it’s not his job to coach confidence." We fundamentally disagree; at this level, mental toughness and player development are inseparable from technical coaching. Sideline & Team Environment: The lack of discipline on the sidelines—where parents are permitted to coach other people's children—has led to a toxic team dynamic. The players are now arguing with one another rather than competing, which has become embarrassing to witness. We hope this feedback is taken seriously for the sake of the remaining players. We wish the teams the best, but we can no longer support an environment that lacks basic respect and professional coaching standards.

When the Tega Cay soccer director tells you to go coach somewhere else instead of listening or conversating about concerns. That should tell you something about where this program is heading, and I have VOLUNTEERED my time for nearly 3 years.

This is the icing on the cake! After choosing Independence over his previous club or other competing organizations, Brody is very happy he chose to come to Charlotte Independence. I have been equally impressed with communication at the club and Brody’s development under Coach Jack and also Coach Tom and Coach Fernando. I appreciate the cost savings related to Brody’s transition from the Competitive team to the ECNL Program. This was a very considerate gesture.
