Charles River Sailing Academy is a summer sailing day camp for kids ages 11–16 run out of the MIT Sailing Pavilion in Cambridge, teaching on Tech Dinghies and 420s. Beginners take the helm of their own dinghy — sailing in pairs — on the first morning, while the intermediate group works on advanced boathandling, sailing full-size Tech sails in all conditions and learning to race. Camp runs 9:00am–4:00pm in weekly sessions from June, at $725 per session; campers must pass a Monday swim test of 50 yards plus two minutes treading water, and Coast Guard-approved lifejackets and helmets are provided.
