I am a very active hands on parent. So when they sent out permission slips it said limited chaperone availability. Awwe no room no problem. I googled this place and went ahead of time so I could find out how where it is and how much I need to pay to get in. Well upon going Emma informed me that it is not open to the public. U can only go on the school trip. But she did give me a tour. Between her and Amanda n her spacesuit..🥳🥳.I feel 100 times better about not being able to attend. It is located on Purdue s campus. It's a locked facility u must be buzzed n. And it is not open to the public. Very very secure and after the tour which Emma willingly gave me. 10 outta 10 I strongly recommend. Well worth the 13 bucks I paid for my baby to go on the field trip. This place rocks...... Thank u Jesus....so glad I did my homework and investigated. This is a hidden GEM.. my baby is going to love love love it. Thank u Emma n Valerie for making this a rewarding experience and easing my heart and mind.

My grandchildren and I were spending the afternoon at Sunset Hills Farm in Valpo when the kids saw a group of people sending off rockets in the air. My grandkids were so excited to see the rockets that we joined the group to watch. It turns out that the group was led by Commander Greg from the Challenger Learning Center in Hammond. Commander Greg was very informative and so nice to include my grandkids in the rocket demonstration even though we had not signed up for the experience. He answered their many questions and even gave them "space food" (freeze dried) ice cream to take home. I will definitely check out the other programs that the Challenger Learning Center offers.

I had an amazing time at the Challenger Learning Center in Hammond today! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience completely immersive. The 'Operation Comet' mission was fantastic. The center is also full of amazing space memorabilia. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and engaging experience.

Went here yesterday on a fieldtrip and the kids just loved it. They actually had to work, they did math problems and solved puzzles and were very productive. It was an awesome way for them to learn, work and have fun all at the same time. The staff was dedicated and so good at their jobs. They were all very in character and made the experience so much more "real" for the kids. My daughter is hoping to go back soon!
