The Center for Future Innovators (CFI Robotics NFP) is a Chicago nonprofit running week-long, project-based STEAM summer camps at its Bridgeport center on South Morgan Street. Themed weeks cover FIRST LEGO League robotics, Space, Ocean Exploration and Minecraft; campers define a problem, build and program robots, then present their work to families at a Friday 1:00pm showcase. Camps run 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday at $425 a week with a $25 multi-camp or sibling discount, in small cohorts, and each week includes guest speakers and local park visits when weather allows. The FIRST LEGO League weeks are for rising 4th to 8th graders and are taught by the organization's award-winning competition coaches.

★★★★★Faith MitchellCenter for Future Innovators (CFI) is an excellent program. CFI provides the training and exposure necessary to help children develop a strong knowledge about coding. They offer classes at levels for beginners up to children who compete in city and state wide robotics competitions. The biggest benefit of CFI is that they promote self confidence in the scholars they support. Children who are shy develop the skills necessary that allow them to present their learning with pride with public speaking and presenting skill development. Students also learn to navigate soft skills such as problem solving, they develop tenacity, grit, empathy, they learn to collaborate, and most important of all, learn in a structured environment while having fun. I highly recommend CFI to any family with a child who is curious about coding, enjoys building/engineering, designing new mechanisms and being creative.

After exchanging emails I was invited to CFI's PBL Expo to meet the team and volunteer for event staff.
