I will NEVER do any type of activities or events or participate with this center EVER again! If you have kids with a disability PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT send them here for anything they like to bring kids in rooms and question them about things that are not even going on in your home.

This is the worse agency to deal with if your seeking help, I applied for a City grant to help me with repairs to my home in a program the city has for seniors , I applied in July 2024 , met with a Jim Trickett , who went over my application and I turned all documentation into him , he calls me a month later and said my name was not in my paystub, which was the first lie , my name was on there , I resubmitted a paystub , then he stated I didn’t have the proper ss documentation , in which I did , after a month or so of not hearing anything , I emailed Mr Trickett , no response , 3 emails before I finally got a response , he finally told me the City had approved my application , and he was waiting on a colleague to come out and do a home visit , from the very start of my application , I felt a bad racist vibe from this guy , he didn’t want to approve me , , In October he called to set up appoint , Mr Trickett and his colleague came out , I needed a new garage roof , replace broken windows , and a new door , they stated they could probably only get the windows approved and they would send out 2 contractors to bid on job , November 3 , I get a email from Mr Trickett stating the City said I was not within the 80% income , which is a flat out lie , I work 9 months out of the year parttime and receive ss , mind you my application was also looked over by the executive director of this agency before being sent to the city , The executive director called me after I asked Mr Trickett for more information basically she was making up excuses for him , but there is no excuses , because I know what my income is , I know the racism and the treatment I received from Mr Trickett , , if you are a Black person seeking help from a agency run by Whites , they do not want to help you at all ,The executive director was supposed to send me the documentation of how my income was calculated that day , and to this day I hsve re wives nothing ,

I just can't believe how much they've diminished in size. Compared to the "old" building on Atcheson. The day camp really doesn't look much fun, though I'm sure the children love it. Because of the great staff. But I bet if u asked them do they wish the facility was bigger, they'd say yes. But then again, what do I know.
