Central-Clemson Recreation Center
Private
The Central-Clemson Recreation Center is a full-service fitness and aquatics facility in the Town of Central with two saltwater pools, basketball/volleyball courts, fitness and water-fitness classes, and swim lessons. A distinct kids' summer camp run by the center itself could not be confirmed; area day camps are operated by the City of Clemson and Clemson University.

Powered by GoogleVery best heated pool ever great for me as being handicapped and needing to do cardio
Had a very bad interaction with a member of staff. They were clearly high and THREW a pen at my chest when I needed to sign some paper work.
Really enjoyed using the therapy pool for my bad knees, but now they have put up a sign they don't want us using speakers at the pool for our workouts. Really disappointed with this decision. Music is important for seniors to keep us motivated and in good spirits.
It's a nice Rec center. I'm not sure if it's funded by Clemson University, like everything else is in that area, but it's definitely more funded than any other in Pickens County. Has a pool, at least 2 basketball courts that are also used for volleyball, and a weight room or something up stairs, and looked like they offer different cardio classes as well. It would be 5 stars but several parents for the home team were very unsportsmanlike so I'll give the facility a 4 because it really is nice. Verbal abuse shouldn't be tolerated even if it is your kid. FYI I'm not one of those sappy parents that doesn't think games should be scored. There's got to be a winner and a loser. Helps prepare for life, but let the coach do their job and actually help the kids but the parents need to stay out of it. They would've been asked to leave in Pickens. If you want to help your kid get better then support them by practice at home and let the coach do her job at the game... Remember everyone is there for fun. With that said I'll get off my soap box and say "Go Pickens!!!! "
Great rec center! Nice staff, nice members, enthusiastic class instructors and inexpensive no hassle day passes. The weights and cardio rooms are combined which is nice because there is always a mix of people around. I think women feel less intimidated to use the weights if they aren't off in a separate room populated by a bunch of ripped guys and no women. The facility is kept clean and always has ample parking. My only complaint is they don't offer any classes on the weekend.
