Celsius & Beyond is a boutique science enrichment program offering week-long summer science camps for children in grades 1–9 across several San Francisco locations, running since 2007. Scientist instructors lead hands-on 'deep dive' camps distilling college-level science into kid-friendly activities — using cooking to teach chemistry, music for physics, and mazes for math — plus topics like robotics, neuroscience, and genetics. They've found these camps fun, educational and stimulating. For example, for Surgery, my son learnt a great deal about physiology; plated a "fractured" femur; and dissected a frog and a heart. The instructors were bona fide scientists as well (med school and pre-med students). In conversing with Auritte, the owner of Celsius, I found a kindred spirit impassioned by science and by teaching cutting-edge science and other skills to kids in a systematic and engaging way. Highly recommended for a warm and friendly environment and educational content that truly makes a difference!
