Carmel Valley Athletic Club runs weekly summer day camps at its private club in Carmel Valley. Three tracks are offered: a themed Kids' Camp for ages 5-8 with weekly themes such as Mad Science and Safari & Nature, a Tennis Camp for ages 5-11 taught by USPTA-certified pros with a focus on agility, coordination and sportsmanship, and a Splash Camp for ages 5-11 in the club pool. Families register by the week or by the day and choose full-day or half-day; Splash Camp also runs standalone from 1:00-4:00 PM or as an add-on to Tennis Camp. The 2026 season runs June 8 through August 14, with separate member and guest rates.

★TammyFalse advertising! If you are looking for 3.5 plus tennis clinics, look elsewhere! Lovely club but I attended the 3.5 plus tennis clinic and there were at least 3 players that were 3.0 USTA or lower. It was disappointing to pay $45.00 for a class that was listed for your skill level only to find yourself frustrated needing to play softer and slower. I voiced my disappointment both with the tennis instructor Jon and the General Manager Kim. Requested a refund since the class was not as described but am still waiting for a response…
★★★★N JI would say this is a great place for a family with kids who can really take advantage of the pool. The gym is really nice as well. If you're thinking of joining for the pickleball, I wouldn't advise it. You have to get the full membership which is expensive, and they clearly don't promote pickleball much and even look down on pickleball players. I was told that they are "not a pickleball club but a wellness club". And don't confuse Refuge with CVAC. They are attached but separate businesses.
