The Town of Saugerties has run its Summer Youth Recreation Program at the town-owned Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex since 1962, and 2026 is its 64th consecutive summer. The program runs Monday through Friday from July 6 to August 14, with families choosing a full-day or half-day option; pre-registration prices are lower than on-site registration, and forms are submitted at the Kiwanis Ice Arena or by mail with PayPal and Venmo accepted. The 127-acre complex it is centered on holds 11 baseball fields, four soccer fields, lighted tennis courts, pickleball and basketball courts, three playgrounds, pavilions and hiking trails. A summer camp scholarship form is posted alongside the registration paperwork.

★★★★★Ryan MazierskiCantine Field is a 127-acre group of baseball fields located in Saugerties, NY. The field is home to the Saugerties Stallions of the Perfect Game College Baseball League. The fields and athletic facilities are well maintained. The Stallions arguably have the best playing field in the PGCBL. The main baseball field was built in 1937. For PGCBL games there are bleachers set up along the first and third base lines. Along the third base line there is a large picnic area to enjoy the game. You are allowed to bring your own seats for this area. Behind home plate there are VIP chairback seats. Further behind the VIP seats there are another set of bleachers located underneath a roof. The bleacher seats have a nice view of the whole field. For Stallions games there is a reasonably priced concession stand. There is also a nice well stocked team merchandise shop. The Stallions have a welcoming atmosphere and seeing a game at Cantine Field is a great experience.
