Camp Valor is a Bakersfield faith-based nonprofit program for boys ages 9-17 that teaches military-style discipline alongside Christian values. New participants attend a week-long boot camp (about 55 hours) covering physical training, an obstacle course, formation drills, and Bible study; graduates join the unit for year-round monthly training, camping trips, and parades. Boot camp with uniform and a one-year enlistment costs about $450.
