El Camino Pines
Lutheran Retreats Camps and Conferences (LOM)
Christian overnight camp for students in grades 3-10, run by Lutheran Retreats, Camps & Conferences in the Los Padres National Forest at 6,200 feet, roughly halfway between Los Angeles and Bakersfield. Campers are grouped in cabins by age for traditional camp activities - hiking, swimming, archery, a rock wall, arts and crafts, Bible study and evening campfires. Two specialty overnight options run alongside the regular session: Vagabonds (grades 7-10) sleeps at the upper Frontier Pines site with fire-cooked meals and outdoor-skills learning, and Nightlife (grades 7-12) is built around after-dark programming, stargazing and hands-on astronomy. The operator uses a 'You Choose' model under which families select Full Price, Half Price or No Price, so a camper can attend at no cost.

Powered by GoogleBeautiful atmosphere. Great camps up there. Absolutely love this location!
In 1983, when I was in the 6th grade I went to El Camino Pines. The experience was wonderful! I remember all the activities and the fun. I remember being scared of the horses. I remember the snow on the ground and my 1st experience of the amazing peaceful quiet that it brings. El Camino Pines has become a cherished memory from my childhood. Every child should be lucky enough to have that same experience.
Beautiful, started out warm, cooler than Thousand Oaks though. Intense thunder and lightning, followed by heavy rain was super memorable. Rain dropped the temperature down to the 70's which felt great.
so i just came back from attending science camp with my daughter, i must say i think i had more fun than some of the kids. the staff is EXCELLENT with the kids. the educational material is great. lots of hands on activities. perfect combination of educational and fun. i highly recommend it. Drew, Cali, Bristol, Jared, Owen, Sara... you guys are awesome!!
My daughter has been there and loved it. They helped her how to work as a team which right now she is using what she knows to work with us. If i had a chance to get out of work i would definitely go. I thank the staff for showing her many life changing skills!😀
